The Power Of Words

The Power Of Words

I don't hold back any punches in my writing: my stories are deeply rooted in the harsher truths of reality, and always told from a position of personal experience. Albert Campus famously said "In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer". This is true for me also. I survived almost ten years of childhood sexual abuse, having moved to England as a six year old "German girl" unable to speak any English. With no place to turn, no wider family to turn to, at a time in history when there was no social media, not even a telephone in our home, I used my imagination to provide me with sanctity, even during the darkest of hours.
